What about someone who meets in the middle?

Someone teeth-gnashingly compelled to create, and does so without the slightest knowledge of what they’re doing? And what if said one has half a mind left, after all of the medications, meditations, mental sufferings, medical sufferings, begins to wonder how a thing one wants to create, has been creating on a creature level, is constructed with care and thought? And what if said one begins to follow directions and brings a modicum, a modico, of craftwo/manship to their work, does the raw/brute derserve the new title of self taught? Is the art of an insane artist still raw if he or she has been cooking him or herself?

Sometimes when I am in the bathroom I have these amazing trains of thought, these astounding revelations that I believe are my own until I start surfing the web and discover my discovery was discovered by another before me…

So before I start researching this beautiful truth I think is my own but will undoubtedly realize is not-

There is quite a difference between teaching yourself a skill or craft and being compulsively moved to create. Being internally pushed to write a 7000 page epic novel(ala Henry Darger) and deciding to write coherent, financially viable works of some length(ala Nora Roberts) are completely different things.

Sane=diving=self-taught.

Insane=falling=raw.

Now that I’ve written it down I am sure that others have probably known this forever…
